Overview

Kodachadri is the tenth highest peak in Karnataka at the elevation of 1,343 metres above sea level. This mountain range is situated in the Shivmogga district which is also known as aShimoga. The place is situated about 285kms from Bangalore, which would involve an overnight journey to take to the paradise. The city is one of the famous tourist destinations in the Western Ghats, with magnificent waterfalls, mountain ranges, wildlife reserve and many more. Kodachadri peak has been declared as natural heritage site by the government of Karnataka. Kodachadri has been derived from two words “Kodacha” and “Adri”, which means home of jasmine flowers. This mountain peak is trekker’s paradise who come in search of some exhilarating experience in the lap of the Western Ghats. This mountain range gives you every reason to ditch your plans and travel to the cloud kissing mountain range of Southern India. This mountain peak is situated amidst the Mookambika National Park, biodiversity hotspot and home for several rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. About 5 kms for the mountain peak of Kodachadri, there stands Hidlumane Waterfall which is trekker’s favourite destination.
