Overview
Kodachadri is one of the beautiful mountain peak of Karnataka. It is located in the west of Shimoga district, with an altitude of about 1343 meters above the sea level. It is also recognized as a natural heritage site by Karnataka government.
Literal Meaning of Kodachadri is “Jasmine of Hills” in the native language of Karnataka. The Place is famous numerous waterfalls and mountain peaks and One of the most famous waterfall – “Hildumane Falls” is located right in the center of the valley.
The stunning views from the peak and the magical beauty of sunset makes this places more unique compare to other mountains peaks of Karnataka, and a night journey makes it the most ideal weekend getaway close to Bangalore that one can venture into

Itinerary
Day 0:
7.30 pm – 9 pm – Bangalore
Leave from Bangalore late evening. We request you to have some light food before travelling. This trip would be an overnight journey to Kodachadri in which we would have an informal introduction and have fun
Day 1:
7:00 am – 8:00 am
Nitturu is a small village at the base of Kodachadri hill which is about 394kms away from Bangalore. The trek is considered to be moderate for beginners. And a night journey from Bangalore makes is more convenient for trekker to explore this place and return back to Bangalore.
The trek contains everything from forest, waterfall, green meadows, farm, rocky path and peaks. The Kodachadri peak is popular for its sunrise and sun set. As we are starting our trek in the morning we would be able to witness the sun set from the peak
8:00 am – 10:00 am After fresh-up and hot breakfast we would start our trek. The jungle route of the trek is little ahead from the homestay on the jeep road. The jeep road is straight up to the peak. After taking a right into the jungle we would trek till the Hidlumane water fall.
On the route of Hidlumane water fall, we would be crossing through a small hut where you can refresh yourself with fresh butter milk.
All worries fade away when cold water of fall touches your body. No other wonderful event would excite you there then adding a nature shower into your travelogue.
10:00 am – 11:30 am Stepping ahead into the jungle and soon will able to hear the sound of flowing water and view of “Hidlumane water fall” will be there to welcome us. All the pain and trouble will vanish once you get splashed by water at Hidlumane Waterfall
11:30 am – 3:00 pm The trail gets a bit steep after the water fall through the dense forest of Kodachadri. Will keep walking into the open meadow. The village is seen from here if it is not cloudy. Will reach to lunch point and enjoy our lunch
3:00 am – 5:30 pm A steep inclined walk to the peak and the sunset from the peak would definitely remind you that nothing comes for free in this world. If the Nature gives you a stunning view of sunset then it would also take some of your sweat as payback. After spending a quality time at the peak. We would hold our time at the peak for the sunset. The view of sunset from the peak would hold all your clocks and alarm and remind you that life and nature combining makes a perfect couple.
5:30 am – 6:30 pmWe would descent to homestay from peak in a jeep ride for a much awaited hot dinner and of course camp fire.
Day 2: Return
7:30 am – 11 am
Next day, after breakfast we would hop on our bus to Shivappa Nayaka Fort. Spend some time at the fort and then back to Bangalore.1 am – 10.30 pm – Return Journey to Bangalore.
