Overview
The Budo Academy is the initiative of Renshi V. A. M. Iqbal (7th Dan Karate, 5rd Dan Kobudo, 3nd Dan Aikido). As always, with strong support from his elder brother Najeem Sensei (6th Dan Karate, 4nd Dan Kobudo, 3nd Dan Aikido and younger brother Jaleel Sensei (6th Dan Karate, 4nd Dan Kobudo, 3nd Dan Aikido) – he has opened this dojo, like all the other dojos they have opened together.
The “Karate Brothers” (as they are affectionately known) have dedicated their entire life to the martial arts. They have been teaching in the United Arab Emirates for over 30 years. During the course of their career, they have not only proven themselves to be a committed martial artists, but also excellent students to those who have taught them, and excellent teachers to those they have taught and continue to teach.
As Technical Director for the Middle East region, Renshi Iqbal has helped spread the style to various other countries around the world. Now, he follows the circle of life as he brings it all back home. He started learning the martial arts along with his brothers in their home state of Kerala, India. The brothers have always wanted to give back to the place that introduced them to this passion. The Budo Academy is their gift to their home state.
Providing instruction in fitness and in three different traditional martial arts – Karate-do, Kobudo and Aikido – the Budo Academy will offer nothing less than the very best training using only the best, internationally acclaimed methods that combine Renshi Iqbal’s vast knowledge and experience, and the blessings and support of some of the world’s highest-ranking martial arts Senseis.
