Overview

Kudremukh is the third highest peak in Karnataka at the elevation of 1,894 metres above sea level. This mountain range is situated in the coffee estates of Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka. In the language kannada, “kudremukh” means “horse-face” and the side of this mountain range resembles horse-face. Trekking to this mountain range is an eye-candy to the trekkers. Passing through the serene Western ghats, a bumpy jeep ride would take trekkers to their base camps. Every step you take by its a surprise for rest of your life. On the way to the base camp, there are various waterfalls spotted serving as refreshing water source. A warning to phone crazy people, the place is devoid of telephone networks. In case you get lucky, you might get a signal but a weak one though. This trekking experience to the 24 kms to and fro takes you for a ride. While trekking uphill the wind is spine-chilling, the next moment raindrops kiss your face and then the mighty sun shines ahead. The weather changes every second here, where clouds play hide and seek with the sun. Kudremukh National Park is one of the tourist attraction and second largest in the Western Ghats. It is one of the loved destinations by the trekkers for the exhilarating experience of the Western Ghats. This mountain range gives you every reason to ditch your plans and travel to the cloud kissing mountain range of Southern India.
